Description: We'll hike up Bill's Trail, a beautiful, forested, and gradual climb up to Barnabe Peak, incorporating many switchbacks. At the peak are a fire lookout and gorgeous views, including of Tomales Bay. Bill's Trail ends just below the peak. There's a short, steeper section on a fire road up to the peak. We'll return to the cars on the same route.
Bring/Wear: Please bring water, lunch, hat and sunscreen for the sunny portions (20% of the hike). Poles are always helpful.
Rain Policy: Cancelled in the event of rain.
Dogs: Dogs NOT allowed in state parks.
Trailhead Meeting Place: Devil's Gulch Parking. Take US101 to Sir Francis Drake; head west 19 miles. A mile past the very prominent sign (on the left) for Samuel P Taylor State Park campground is the parking on the left side of the road, opposite of Devils Gulch. Google Maps link.
