SF Meeting Location Whole Foods @ 2001 Market St. Meet on the Dolores St. side.(There's parking on the street or below the building.

East Bay Meeting Location: Rockridge BART station. Meet at the bottom of the escalators. (There's free and ample parking)

Description: Join us on a spring hike to the top of Mission Peak above Fremont, but starting from the seldom used east side at Sunol Regional Park. This is a less steep ascent than from the traditional Fremont entrance. It's prettier with fewer hikers. In the past we've seen bobcat, coyote, turkeys and roaming pigs. This hike will provide a rigorous workout, should provide plentiful wildflower viewing and pays off with terrific views of the East Bay Hills and all of the south Bay.

Bring / Wear: Please bring water, lunch, hat and sunscreen for the sunny portions (one third of the hike). Poles may be helpful on the final ascent and initial descent from the peak. NOTE the Peak can be significantly colder if there's any wind, so prepare accordingly.

Rain Policy: Cancelled in the event of rain. 

Dogs: Dogs ARE ALLOWED in the park.

Trailhead Meeting Place: Sunol Regional Park, past the Visitors Center. Park on the left or in the dirt lot on the right. From the East Bay, take  I-580 E (toward Stockton, Hayward) to I-680 S (toward San Jose. Take Exit 21 (Calaveras/Dumbarton Br) and at end of the off-ramp turn left onto Calaveras Rd. Proceed 4.4 miles, left onto Geary Rd, then 1.8 miles to Visitors Center. Google Maps link. There may be a $5.00 park entrance fee.
