Description:  We'll hike the length of the watershed of Redwood Creek with its many tributaries on the French Trail hiking down to the creek itself on the Orchard Trail. We'll hike along the creek and its redwood groves on the Stream Trail, stopping for lunch at one of the picnic areas. We'll return to our starting point on the Tres Sendas Trail.

Bring / Wear:  Bring water, layered clothing, lunch, and sunscreen, hiking boots and hiking poles if you use them.

Rain Policy:  Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

Dogs:  Dogs are allowed off leash on the first half of the hike, but must be leashed on the Stream Trail, a protected salmon habitat.

Are you up for the hike?  If so, here are the meeting options...

  • East Bay Carpooling Location (9:45a) Rockridge BART station (map).  Meet at the bottom of the escalators.  There's free and ample parking.
  • SF Carpooling Location (9:30a):  Whole Foods (map) @ 2001 Market Street.  Meet on the Dolores Street side.  There's parking on the street or below the building.

NOTE:  Please only show up at the carpooling locations if you have arranged ahead of time to be a rider (or driver).  See Carpool Fees below.

  • TRAILHEAD MEETING LOCATION (10:00a, departing at 10:15) We will meet and begin the hike at the Waterloo Staging Area (map).

Total Driving Distance (round trip):  38 miles (SF), 12 miles (Rockridge BART).

Carpool Fees (per passenger):  $7* (SF) or $2 (Rockridge BART).

*Includes bridge toll.

NOTE:  I'll reach out to those registered who have indicated that they need/want a ride or can take passengers.  If you need to contact me for whatever reason, please do so before Friday @ 3:00 PM the day before the hike.
