Description: Our Loma Alta hikeleader is under the weather this week - as we all are: rain should be with us all day Saturday - again! Easter Sunday should be bright and sunny with virtually no wind. This replacement hike will be considerably easier. We'll start from Upper Crown Road in Kentfield (Marin), walk to and then around Phoenix Lake. After walking along the stunning Bill Williams Creek we'll climb up the Owl Trail, past a pretty waterfall. This 4/10 mile trail is the only non-system one on this hike and it's the only steep uphill of the day. A couple of trees have recently fallen along/across it, but they're easily avoided. Tucker Trail passes the hidden Tucker Falls before dropping into a beautiful 2nd growth redwood forest. Once back down by Bill Williams Creek we'll begin to make our way back to the cars. Well-behaved dogs are always allowed in the Water District.
Bring / Wear: Please bring water, lunch, hiking shoes and poles if you use them.

Trailhead Directions: Exit US 101 at the San Anselmo/Sir Francis Drake Blvd off ramp. Veer left to go below the freeway. Stay on SF Drake for just under 2 miles to turn left on College Ave. There's a dedicated left turn lane. Continue for .4 miles before turning right onto Woodland Rd. In 500' turn right onto Goodhill Rd. Stay on Goodhill for about a mile. Turn left onto Crown Rd. Once the view opens up on the right start looking for parking on the house side of the street. Park anywhere along that stretch; we'll be returning from the far end of the road. Google Maps Link
