Description: Foothill Nature Preserve has only been open to the general public since December of 2021. Previously, only residents of Palo Alto were allowed entrance to the park. The initial influx of new visitors has now waned and the park retains its natural beauty. We'll be entering Foothill NP from the south via the connecting trail network from Los Trancos Open Space Preserve. From the Los Trancos parking area on Page Mill Road we'll follow the Page Mill Trail to the Los Trancos Trail into the park. We'll eat lunch at the Glen Hollow Picnic Area and then walk along Los Trancos Creek following a different route back through Los Trancos Preserve and to the cars.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A RIDE AND/OR CAN TAKE A PASSENGER.

Bring / Wear: Lots of water and maybe a snack - this is a lengthy hike; lunch, sunscreen and hat for the sunny portions. Poles if you'd like and comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes.

Weather Policy: Hike will be canceled in the event of heavy/steady rain.
